durability when the ceramicshield glass on the iPhone 12 seriesdidn't crack in any of our drops eventhe one from higher up at just under oneand a half meters so this year with theiPhone 13 we're gonna skip the lowerdrops all together and do them all fromthat higher height to see if the iPhone13 pro max is as durable as itspredecessor despite being a little bitheavier and to see how well it stacks upto its biggest competition in the galaxys21 ultra let's find out[Music]this episode is sponsored by the Ankernano pro is a tiny little charger that'sabout the same size as the old 5 watta charger that apple used to include inthe box but is capable of charging theiPhone three times as fast wetested it with it charging the iPhonefrom zero to 56 percent in just 30minutes now at 20 watts it matches thefast charging power brick that applesells separately but the difference isthe nano pro is roughly 50 percentsmaller making it easier to throw in abag while you're traveling or justtaking up less space on your power stripand it also comes in four differentcolor options like this glacier bluethe version that we have here that lookspretty clean now the nano pro doesn'tjust charge your phone quickly it alsodoes so intelligently with Anker'sactive shield system including a dynamictemperature sensor and a power tunerchip so that way it can adjust the poweroutput when it needs to safeguardyour phone so you can charge it fast andyou can make it last click on the firstlink down below in the description tolearn more round number one backdrop inthreetwoone[Applause]after that backdrop from just under 1.5meters both phones have their rear glassshattered with the iPhones lookingespecially bad around that camerahousing I mean taking a look at thetropic can in slow motion we had a glassflying everywhere but despite how bad itlooks through the phone is stilltechnically fully functional with eventhe cameras and that lidar sensorworking just fine the galaxy's backdoesn't look as bad with the metalhousing on the camera certainly helpingprotect that area of the phone so whileit's not the best result from either ithink the slight edge goes to the galaxyin round number one round number twocorner drop twoone[Music]both phones handled that corner droppretty well the screens remain undamagedand everything else is still fullyfunctional but in terms of the damage tothe corners themselves the iPhone faredbetter here with its stainless steelframe getting way less scuffed comparedto the galaxy's aluminum giving an easywin to the iPhone in round number tworound number three face drop threetwoone[Music]after the face drop the galaxy s21ultra's glass cracks andso does the iPhones I'm kind ofsurprised that the iPhone 13's ceramicshield glass cracked here since when wedid this same drop on the iPhone12 pro max last year that phone survivedwithout a problem so I don't know if itcracked due to the iPhone 13 pro maxbeing heavier Orville is just the randombad luck that can happen on any givendrop but either way, it's notthe result you'd want to see on yourbrand new iPhone the galaxy for its partdid pretty much just as bad so I have tocall it a tie in round number threebonus round despite all the shatteredthe glass both phones remain fullyfunctional so we move on to the bonusround where we're dropping these phonesup to 10 times onto steel totest their impact and shock resistanceafter that first bonus drop while theinitial damage got a bit worseon each phone both phones still seem tobe working just fine so we'll keep ongoingthree drops in and the iPhone lose aa big chunk of glass from its rear and italso suffers some damage to its screenwith some of the pixels there no longerworking but in terms of thethe touchscreen's functionality welleverything still seems to be workingjust fine so we'll keep on dropping thephonessix brutal drops in and this time it'sthe galaxy that's having trouble withits screen just freaking out now thethe good news here is it did seem to recoverafter we locked and unlocked it but it'ssomething we'll have to keepan eye on in the next dropsand after all 10 bonus drops neitherthe phone looks good but the iPhone looksespecially bad with multiple trunks inthe back just falling off due to thesheer impact with the steel now justlike before outside of all the shatteredglass and those damaged pixelseverything else on the phone is stillworking fine but compared to the galaxyat least visually it's a pretty bigdifference the galaxy's touchscreen
still works as you'd expect there isn'tany damage to the pixels on the displayand the glass just doesn't look anywherenear as bad so it's a clear win for thegalaxy in round number four so with allfour rounds in the books let's take alook at the scorecard where the galaxysustained slightly less damage in thebackdrop the stainless steel frame onthe iPhone outperformed in the cornerdrop both phones shattered in the facedrop and the galaxy held up better inthe bonus round helping the galaxy earnmore points overall making it the winnerin this drop test anyways that is it forI in this video thank you for watchingand as always I'll see you in the very
still works as you'd expect there isn't
